¿Tenemos realmente el buen hábito de la lectura?. En los círculos sociales y empresariales se dice que no, que la gente no tiene la sana costumbre de leer. Es verdaderamente una lástima, porque en Internet encontraremos una buena cantidad de información, y lo mejor de todo, en muchos casos sin que nos cueste un solo centavo. Hace un par de días por ejemplo, leí un breve artículo sobre diez consejos prácticos para contratar mejores empleados. En cinco minutos de lectura pude integrar a mi propia estrategia de reclutamiento y selección de personal al menos tres técnicas muy eficaces.
He conocido gente que tiene por costumbre conservar en su computadora personal una larga lista de sus sitios favoritos, integrada por una serie de vínculos a documentos que descubren al navegar en Internet, que lucen interesantes y que los conservan para cuando haya una oportunidad de leerlos. También está el caso de los que gustan de imprimir los documentos, archivarlos y tenerlos listos para cuando lleguen esos preciados minutos libres para poder darles lectura. Desafortunadamente, en muchos de los casos ese tiempo libre nunca llega y terminamos por tener que deshacernos de esa larga lista de referencias y artículos que en algún momento dado deseamos haber leído.
La lectura es un hábito, y como tal es necesario formarlo.
Dicen los expertos en la materia que un mal hábito puede ser substituido por un buen hábito. Así es que si Usted tiene la "buena" costumbre de mantener su larga lista de los artículos "deseables", ¿Por qué no mejor se forma el hábito de permitirse un breve espacio de cinco minutos al día para leer, en vez de estar manteniendo esa extensa lista de referencias?
Es necesario fomentar nuestro hábito por la lectura en todas las disciplinas. Como un ejemplo, el bajo índice de efectividad de los programas de marketing por Internet se debe en buena medida al desconocimiento sobre los factores clave y las mejores prácticas en diseño Web.
Muchas de las respuestas a nuestras dudas las podemos encontrar en los propios sitios en Internet, los cuales nos pueden proveer de la información necesaria para tomar mejores decisiones. De hecho, esta es precisamente la misión de los Sitios Web: Comunicar nuestro mensaje, difundir el conocimiento humano en todas sus disciplinas, servir y unir a las diferentes comunidades sociales, educativas y empresariales en todo el mundo. Pero la gente no gusta de leer, al menos no en la medida que resulta necesaria.
Como comentaba anteriormente, una problemática bastante común dentro de esta industria del Internet, es el desconocimiento generalizado acerca de las diversas técnicas de diseño Web. Si Usted navega por Internet en busca de algunos consejos prácticos sobre diseño de Sitios Web, seguramente encontrará diversos artículos sobre el tema. Por ejemplo, uno de los errores que se cometen con mayor frecuencia es el uso indebido de la animación gráfica. "Si Usted no tiene nada que comunicar, use Flash" argumentan los expertos en diseño Web en son de crítica. A pesar de ello, un porcentaje considerable de los sitios en México y demás países en América Latina están siendo diseñados erróneamente en animación Web. Y esto se debe esencialmente a una falta de lectura sobre el tema.
Otro ejemplo que nos sitúa como una comunidad carente de buenos hábitos de lectura es la calidad de las visitas a los Sitios Web.
Después de varios años de haber entrado estas nuevas tecnologías a nuestros hogares y empresas, hemos logrado integrar una gran comunidad de usuarios conectados a la red, los índices de crecimiento son aún espectaculares y existen ahora miles de sitios y portales en Español con ofertas de contenido muy interesantes.
Sin embargo, examinando la calidad y no únicamente el volumen de tráfico, nos damos cuenta que la gente no está tomando ventaja de esa información valiosa disponible en Internet. Existe un gran volumen de tráfico en la búsqueda de simples definiciones, por ejemplo de lo que es un organigrama o las funciones de una empresa, siendo que tenemos a nuestra disposición documentos que nos pueden ayudar en actividades tan complejas como es el estructurar un plan de negocios o un plan de exportación.
España por ejemplo (economía número diez del mundo), genera las búsquedas más avanzadas en español en el campo de mercadotecnia y tecnologías de Internet. Por otro lado, contra lo que pudiera suponerse por la dimensión de sus economías, la comunidad Argentina es más activa que la de México, y suelen hacer búsquedas más avanzadas en temas como diseño, posicionamiento y comercio electrónico por Internet. Otros países que son también muy activos en el Web son Colombia, Venezuela, Chile y Perú.
¿De qué forma podemos aprovechar al máximo esta fuente inagotable del conocimiento humano que es el Web?
Pues bien, si la mayor parte de nuestra actividad en los negocios consiste en tomar decisiones, entonces una de las formas más redituables de aprovechar este universo de información es integrar al Web a nuestras prácticas de toma de decisiones. Todos sabemos que uno de los factores clave para tomar buenas decisiones es estar bien informado. Particularmente en lo referente a proyectos de tecnología, no es suficiente saber que existen determinadas técnicas o herramientas, sino hay que tener un conocimiento muy preciso de cuándo y cómo se aplican cada una de ellas para poder lograr resultados satisfactorios.
Si Usted no tiene el hábito de leer, nuestra mejor recomendación es que se comprometa a trabajar en ello y trate de lograr un balance apropiado en su material de lectura. A la extensa fuente de publicaciones como libros, manuales, literatura técnica, periódicos y revistas, puede ahora integrar al Web para ampliar su propio conocimiento y acervo cultural.

THE IMPORTANCE AND WHAT'S READING?
What's reading:
Reading is a process of interaction between reader and text, the process by which the former attempts to satisfy (obtain information relevant to) the objectives to guide their reading ... the text's meaning is constructed by the reader. This does not mean that the text itself does not make sense or meaning ...
What I try to explain is that the meaning one has written for the reader is not a translation or replication of the meaning that the author would like to print, but a construction that involves the text, the reader's prior knowledge that already deals with the objectives facing this
Why's important to read?
Reading is very important in the process of development and maturation of children. In recent years, is noticing a growing interest from parents for their children's reading, perhaps because they know, reads from the media, the relationship between reading and academic achievement.From these pages I would like to make them aware of the learning potential of reading goes beyond success in school; reading provides culture, developed aesthetic sense, acts on the formation of personality, is a source of recreation and enjoyment.Reading is a vehicle for learning, development of intelligence for the acculturation and education of the will.[THE ADVANTAGES OF READING]What goods reported reading?I'll make a list, not intended to be exhaustive, of goods that brings the reading activity, and thus help to internalize their importance. How we would motivate to the students to read in a foreign language?
In my opinion the fundamental motivation is in a class, not only the student but also a teacher. The attitude of the teacher in class projects and can affect learning and student development.
I remember when I taught Spanish to my freshman and sophomore college one of the activities most enjoyed was reading short stories. On the other hand, when it came time to learn grammar, the classroom became a battleground in which I belonged to one side, other students and the book just in front. Sometimes shared the same feeling that my students did not want to deal with grammar.
I set out to find an effective way to motivate my students to learn the language and all aspects that make it up and came to the conclusion that if we were interested to read, then the readings would be my instrument. I said, they will learn without realizing they are learning!
What grammar?
I knew what the readings were more enjoyed my students back then.No need to teach grammar! I started looking for short stories in Spanish that were narrated in the tense I needed at that moment I wanted to teach, either the past or the imperfect also they had the appropriate level so that my students could read, understand and enjoy at a time. Although I confess that the hardest part was the time spent finding the right material, turned out to be the most satisfying activity, because what was initially a problem, became one of the greatest experiences in my teaching career.
Is it important to make predictions about reading?
Make predictions about reading attracts curiosity, so the children will
more attention to what is read. Moreover, this technique allows the students
organize prior knowledge in a coherent manner, to develop hypotheses and to
check them, compare them and argue positions.
